Introductie
Lassen Volcanic National Park is een unieke bestemming in Californië, bekend om zijn geothermische kenmerken en vulkanische landschappen. Opgericht in 1916, biedt het bezoekers de kans om kokende bronnen, fumarolen en de resten van eerdere uitbarstingen te verkennen, waaronder de opmerkelijke Lassen Peak, die voor het laatst uitbarstte in 1915.
De diverse ecosystemen van het park variëren van weelderige bossen tot kille vulkanische terreinen. Bezoekers wandelen vaak de paden om de geothermische wonderen van dichtbij te ervaren, zoals Bumpass Hell, waar je borrelende modderpoelen en dampende openingen kunt zien.
