San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park is een verzameling van historische schepen en waterfrontlocaties die de maritieme geschiedenis van de Pacifische kust vieren. Bezoekers komen om de vaartuigen te verkennen, waaronder het tall ship Balclutha, en leren over het maritieme erfgoed van de regio via tentoonstellingen en programma's. Het park biedt de kans om terug in de tijd te stappen en de ambachtelijkheid van deze schepen te waarderen. Het herinnert ook aan de uitdagingen waarmee degenen die de wateren van de baai van San Francisco en daarbuiten navigeerden, werden geconfronteerd.
