Introductie
Gulf Islands National Seashore is een beschermd gebied langs de Golfkust, dat delen van Florida en Mississippi beslaat. Het heeft barrièreeilanden die bekend staan om hun historische betekenis, recreatieve activiteiten en prachtige witte zandstranden. Bezoekers verkennen vaak plekken zoals Fort Pickens, dat een rol speelde in de Burgeroorlog en de Tweede Wereldoorlog, en genieten van wandelpaden die de natuurlijke schoonheid van de regio laten zien. Het park is ook een plek voor kamperen en buitenactiviteiten, maar veel gebieden kunnen gesloten zijn vanwege stormschade.
